Comedy isn’t just the canary in the coal mine of democracy. It is democracy.

Ådaptive Athlete Åcademy provides opportunities for people living with disabilities to engage, participate & develop in activities & experiences beyond the standard. We partner with exceptional athletes, artists & experts across various domains, using equipment specifically designed & developed to meet unique challenges, in environments that inspire åwe.

Ådaptive Athlete Åcademy Ltd mission is to relieve the suffering, distress, helplessness and disadvantage experienced by people with disability. We do this by providing subsidised, supported and accessible adaptive sport and recreation programs to people who face physical, financial, social and systemic barriers to participation in unique and underserviced areas. Our programs reduce isolation, improve wellbeing, build confidence and independence, and provide direct practical relief to people whose disability limits access to mainstream activities and community life.

*The word ‘comedy’ is derived from the Classical Greek kōmōidía, which is a compound of kômos “revel” & ōidḗ ‘singing, ode’. From Ancient Greece to modern times, comedians critique societal norms and politics, mock power and challenge authority.
